Our Story

Founding Moments

Our story begins like many others, from a point of frustration. A family member of ours was diagnosed with Autism and sensory processing disorder (SPD). Through his diagnosis, we were able to understand more about his needs and discomfort. It gave us an insight into why dressing him was a daily struggle. His sensitivity to clothing materials and limited mobility made finding suitable clothes a daunting task. It was a period filled with frustration and countless unsuccessful shopping trips, all while realizing just how overlooked this aspect of inclusivity truly was.

How it's going

From Concept to Reality

Motivated to tackle on this project, we started to bring the idea to life in January 2022. We joined Launchpad, London Business School’s pre-accelerator program, and learned how to start moving an idea to more of a concrete business. Reaching the finals and winning the "Best Female Founder" award only strengthened our resolve. In 2023, clinching first place at the New York Public Library StartUp! Business Plan competition solidified our belief in Nasir + Idie's potential to create lasting change.

Charting Our Course

With this first launch, we want to engage, learn, and grow to build out future collections. While kids' clothing is just the beginning, we have our sights set on expanding into adult apparel. Along the way, we want to explore innovative ways to make the entire clothing experience accessible for everyone. Join us on our journey as we strive to create a more inclusive and accessible fashion industry for all.
